Discover the Many Benefits of Therapeutic Yoga!

Therapeutic Yoga teaches us body awareness and provides each practitioner with exercises that can alleviate or eliminate altogether many painful physical issues.

Yoga gives each person the permission to work in their individual range of motion. There are no “class standards” to attain or maintain and everyone can participate regardless of their current fitness level.

In addition to the many physical benefits, practising Yoga greatly improves concentration. Participants learn breathing techniques that allow them to clear the Mind, ignore distractions and stay on task. One of the greatest aspects about starting a Yoga program is that the student is never told what to do, think or believe. Information is provided by the Instructor and clients can choose to keep the skills that help them the most.

In this class we focus on developing core strength, increasing awareness, increasing mobility, decreasing pain, and learning tips to help ourselves “outside of class”.

Hatha Flow Yoga

Hatha Flow Yoga


Using traditional asanas we focus on form and function, always moving within our available range of motion. Emphasis is on core strength, grounding, and increasing mobility. Enjoy a flow in every class for fitness.

Level: Beginner to Advanced


Gentle Stretch and Strengthen

Yoga For Seniors


Enjoy Breath and Meditation as a group and practice your customized Therapeutic Yoga Program with safe supervision and individual instruction. Classes are 1 hour 15 minutes in length. Private consultation prior to the first class is required. This class gives you the warmth and energy of practicing in a small group and the individual attention needed for anyone with health or mobility issues.

About Us

Heather Kolankowski

Heather Kolankowski – RYT-200 Therapeutic Yoga Instructor, UMTC, PADI Rescue Diver.

Heather has taught Yoga in Alberta, Manitoba, British Columbia and Mexico. She is the creator of the Ultimate Music Yoga Program for Ultimate Music Theory, founded by Glory St. Germain. Heather has had the honor to study with Suzette O’Byrne, Susi Hately and Yvonne Werkmann. She teaches small group classes and privately helping clients increase mobility and strength and decrease pain. My Yoga Barn is located on Heather’s acreage allowing clients both a cozy space to practice and some fresh country air, only minutes from Airdrie and Calgary!

Heather, with husband Mike, has managed to raise seven mavericks who masqueraded as innocent children. Currently they have 6 more mischief makers who insist they are Grandchildren. Heather and Mike live on an acreage near Calgary, and when not chasing children, travel extensively on their boat Cove Quest. Their partners in adventure include two Terriers and a German Shepherd with a plastic fixation.
