Change is not something that we should fear. Rather, it is something that we should welcome. For without change, nothing in this world would ever grow or blossom, and no one in this world would ever move forward to become the person they're meant to be.

It is my goal to provide all people with the tools they need to be physically healthy so that they can fulfill their greater purpose, dreams and be happy.

ROAM Retreats Out Amongst Mexico is ready and attainable for adventure travellers February 21 - 28th, 2017. Join myself and Pantera Eco-expeditions in the Sea of Cortez for an amazing week of Discovery!

Discover the Many Benefits of Therapeutic Yoga!

Therapeutic Yoga teaches us body awareness and provides each person with exercises that can alleviate or eliminate altogether many painful physical issues.

Yoga gives each person the permission to work in their individual range of motion. There are no “standards” to achieve or maintain and everyone can participate regardless of their current fitness level. Our Retreats and Eco-Adventures are specifically tailored to be attainable for everyone.

In addition to the many physical benefits, practising Yoga greatly improves concentration. Participants learn breathing techniques that allow them to clear the Mind, ignore distractions and stay on task. One of the greatest aspects about starting a Yoga program is that the client is never told what to do, think or believe. Information is provided by the Instructor and individuals can choose to keep the skills that help them the most.

About Us

Heather Kolankowski

Heather Kolankowski – RYT-200 Therapeutic Yoga Instructor, UMTC, PADI Rescue Diver.

Heather has taught Yoga in Alberta, Manitoba, British Columbia and Mexico. She is the creator of the Ultimate Music Yoga Program for Ultimate Music Theory, founded by Glory St. Germain. Heather has had the honor to study with Suzette O’Byrne, Susi Hately and Yvonne Werkmann. She works with injuries, illness, and surgeries helping clients increase mobility and strength and decrease pain.

My Yoga Barn began on Heather’s acreage in Alberta. Since discovering the need for attainable Retreats and Eco-Adventures Heather has created R.O.A.R. Retreats Out Amongst the Rockies, R.O.A.M. Retreats Out Amongst Mexico, and R.O.A.D.S. Retreats Out Amongst Desolation Sound. All Retreats offer people with mobility and health concerns an opportunity to experience the beauty of adventure travel safely.

Heather, with husband Mike, has managed to raise seven mavericks who masqueraded as innocent children. Currently they have 6 more mischief makers who insist they are Grandchildren. Heather and Mike live on an acreage near Parksville B.C, and explore extensively by land and sea. Their partners in adventure include their Terrier and a German Shepherd with a plastic fixation.

PLEASE NOTE: I am not a doctor, nor do I claim to diagnose or treat any condition. I always recommend that if you have special health concerns to consult your Doctor before attending a Yoga class and schedule a private session where your specific physical conditions can be discussed.

Testimonials

Quote from a happy client!Just wanted to thank you. This is the first yoga class and I left feeling grateful for my body, not criticizing it for what it couldn't do..your class was just what I needed and I will be definitely sharing it!

Linda

Quote from a happy client!Thank you so much for the perfect Yoga therapy. You are a very gifted instructor and I learned a lot and feel much better. Looking forward to next Thursday, but I think I'll practice between now and then. The improvement is amazing!

Jane

Quote from a happy client!I am really loving Heather's yoga classes. She has a very good way with her clients, attention to detail and personal service. Because the classes are fairly small, Heather can spend time with each of us, and any concerns we have. I am also very impressed with her approach, working on core poses. This is a class anyone could do and I am taking her Seniors class right now, but also looking forward to other classes that will be available next week. Namaste

Quote from a happy client!Well - after I read Heather's blog on Sore Wrists, I began to incorporate the exercise she showed us into my teaching and WOW - not only were my arms and wrists feeling better, my students were excited to feel the difference in their bodies. This breathing exercise is going to be amazing for me to use - not only to focus myself, but to focus my (many) unfocused students.
